====== Configure backhaul interfaces of a gateway on Wanesy Management Cockpit ====== ===== Documentation ===== [[https://wmc.wanesy.com|Wanesy Management Cockpit]] (online) [[https://wmc.wanesy.com/docs/index.html|API Web services documentation]] (online) ===== Configure backhaul interfaces of a gateway ===== Modifying the backhaul configuration settings may affect the connectivity and functionality of the gateway. \\ Please proceed with caution and ensure that you fully identified the implications before making any modifications. The constraints associated to the backhaul configuration command are as follows: * The backhaul configuration command is only accessible to users with **SERVICE_ADMINISTRATOR** and **CHANNEL_ ADMINISTRATOR** roles * Only the backhaul interfaces supported by the gateway are displayed and configurable * The different sensitive data (PIN code, password and passphrase) are hidden for security reason * It is not possible to send a new backhaul configuration command if another one is already pending for the same gateway * It is possible to cancel a backhaul configuration command only if it has not yet been sent to the gateway To configure the backhaul interfaces of a gateway, you need to go to the ''Gateway overview'' page and select ''Backhaul'' from the ''CONFIGURATION'' menu. {{:images:backhaul_configuration_menu.jpg?800|}} This menu redirects to a new dedicated page ''Gateway backhaul configuration'', including two parts: * The backhaul configuration of the gateway (current or expected one) * The informations related to the last configuration command sent to the gateway (if any) {{:images:backhaul_configuration.jpg?800|}} ==== Receiving backhaul configuration from the gateway ==== The gateway reports its backhaul configuration to the Wanesy Management Cockpit in the following cases: * When the configuration is locally modified, manually or through the Web interface * When a configuration requested by the Wanesy Management Cockpit has been applied The date and the content of the last backhaul configuration received from the gateway are displayed in the header of the block. {{:images:backhaul_configuration_last_received.jpg?1000|}} Once received from the gateway, the backhaul configuration is displayed in the different tabs: ''GENERAL'', ''ETHERNET'', ''WIFI'' and/or ''CELLULAR''. ==== Backhaul configuration settings ==== === Activation and priority === You have the possibility to: * **Change the priority** between the backhaul interfaces by dragging and dropping blocks * **Disable** a backhaul (WiFi or Cellular), __except the Ethernet one__ which is always enabled by default {{:images:backhaul_configuration_priority.jpg?500|}} === Ethernet interface === The **Network mode** can be configured in: * **DHCP** (default) * **Static IP** {{:images:backhaul_configuration_dhcp.jpg?500|}} In case of **Static IP**, the following parameters can be configured: * **IP address** (mandatory) * **Netmask** (mandatory) * **Gateway** (mandatory) * **DNS server 1** (mandatory) * **DNS server 2** {{:images:backhaul_configuration_static_ip.jpg?500|}} === WiFi interface === You have the possibility to add several **Access Points** in the list, with the following parameters for each one: * **SSID** (mandatory) * **Passphrase** (mandatory) {{:images:backhaul_configuration_access_point.jpg?500|}} When an Access Point has already been configured, it is possible to update its passphrase or remove it from the list. === Cellular interface === The following parameters are configurable: * **PIN code** * **Default APN** The following parameters are associated to the **Default APN**: * **Username** & **Password** * **Authentication method**: CHAP (default), PAP * **Protocol**: IPv4 (default), IPv6, IPv4 + IPv6 {{:images:backhaul_configuration_pin_code_default_apn.jpg?500|}} You also have the possibility to add several **APNs** in the list, with the following parameters for each one: * **APN** (mandatory) * **MCC** & **MNC** (mandatory) * **Username** & **Password** * **Authentication method**: CHAP (default), PAP * **Protocol**: IPv4 (default), IPv6, IPv4 + IPv6 {{:images:backhaul_configuration_apn_list.jpg?500|}} When an APN has already been configured, it is possible to update it or remove it from the list. ==== Sending backhaul configuration to the gateway ==== After clicking on ''SEND CONFIGURATION'' button, you will be asked to confirm in a popup. Once triggered, the backhaul configuration command will be sent to the gateway when the next telemetry message is received (message expected every hour). When a backhaul configuration command is pending (waiting to be sent to the gateway): * The backhaul configuration displayed in the different tabs is the expected one * An orange dot next to the ''Backhaul'' entry in the ''CONFIGURATION'' menu * The total number of pending actions (including configuration and software update) in the ''CONFIGURATION'' menu * A status badge with the total number of pending actions (including configuration and software update) in gateway list (with filtering option) {{:images:backhaul_configuration_pending_menu.jpg?200|}} {{:images:backhaul_configuration_pending_list.jpg?800|}} Depending on its progress, the backhaul configuration command goes through different possible statuses: * **Created**: the command has been created * **Pending**: the command is ready to be sent to the gateway * **Sent**: the command has been sent to the gateway * **Cancel request**: the cancellation of the command has been requested * **Cancelled**: the command has been cancelled To cancel the backhaul configuration command, you need to click on the ''CANCEL CONFIGURATION'' button present in the ''Last configuration'' sent block. {{:images:backhaul_configuration_cancel.jpg?500|}} The following informations related to the last backhaul configuration command sent to the gateway are displayed in the ''Last configuration sent'' block: * The **creation date** of the command * The **application date** of the command (corresponding to the date when it was sent to the gateway, in response to the receipt of a telemetry message) * The **content of the command** sent (displayed in a popup when clocking on the eye link) * The **status** of the command {{:images:backhaul_configuration_last_sent.jpg?500|}}
