The following roles can be assigned to a user:

  • SERVICE_VIEWER is a role for observing the network status
  • SERVICE_OPERATOR is a role for monitoring the network
  • SERVICE_ADMINISTRATOR is a role for maintaining the network in operational condition (can create/update/delete elements)
  • CUSTOMER_ADMINISTRATOR is a role for managing the user accounts to access to the customer platform
  • CHANNEL_ADMINISTRATOR is a role for managing the user accounts of the customer administrators

The permissions (on API and WebUI) by role are detailed in the table below:

Your gateways can be grouped into groups, this a logical regrouping.

By default, the number of groups is limited to 100 per customer.

To create a group, you need to fill the following information:

  • Customer (mandatory): select the customer your group should belong [ONLY APPLICABLE IF YOU HAVE ACCESS RIGHTS ON MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS]
  • Name (mandatory): enter a name for your group
  • Description (optional): enter a description for your group

Declare your gateways

https://wmc.wanesy.com/gateways/new

To declare a gateway, you need to fill the following information:

  • Customer (mandatory): select the customer your gateway should belong to [ONLY APPLICABLE IF YOU HAVE ACCESS RIGHTS ON MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS]
  • Gateway EUI (mandatory): a global end-device ID in IEEE EUI64 address space that uniquely identifies the gateway - see How to obtain the gateway EUI
  • Name (mandatory): enter a name for your gateway
  • Description (optional): enter a description for your gateway
  • Groups (optional): select the group(s) your gateway should belong to (the groups must have been created beforehand)
  • Position (optional): three options are possible to configure the position of your gateway
    • Set the position marker on the map
    • Manually enter the coordinates of your gateway (latitude/longitude/ground height)
    • Click on “Detect location” button to use browser capability for an auto-detection of the location
By default, the number of groups is limited to 10 per gateway.
