SPN iFemtoCell is still under development, all the final features are not yet available.

Breaking of compatibility: license files

Due to the evolution of Wanesy SPN V2 software, licensing management modification leads to a break of compatibility with the license management of Wanesy SPN V1.

Wirnet iFemtoCell Wanesy SPN firmware v2 must only be activated by a valid Wanesy SPN V2 license file.

Wanesy SPN license file provided with SPN version V1 will not allow to run the Wanesy SPN v2 version, even if the V2 firmware can be installed (locked waiting V2 license).

Please contact sales@kerlink.com to order SPN V2 licenses before upgrading to Wirnet iFemtoCell SPN firmware v2.

License files SPN V2 are not compatible with Wirnet iFemtoCell SPN firmware V1 (v1.0.3 and V1.1.1).

When SPN (Small Private Network) firmware is installed on an iFemtoCell, it forms a data collector over a LoRa network.

The classical communication case is that LoRa end-devices (also called motes or end-point devices) emit frames and open short reception windows after the emission.

  • The gateway listens to the emitted frames and records those coming from authenticated end-devices.
  • The gateway may acknowledge or send a frame carrying a payload during one of the end-device's reception windows.
  • The gateway records information associated with frame reception: timestamp, radiofrequency data (band frequency, SNR, etc…).

The SPN iFemtoCell can be connected to an IP network over:

  • Ethernet.
  • Wi-Fi.
  • GSM.

The connection to the IP network is used to:

  • Get received data.
  • Push data to be transmitted.
  • Manage the fleet.
  • Configure the gateway.
  • Update the gateway.
  • Get the logs.

These features are accessible through the following services:

  • Web interface (HTTPS).
  • Local FTP server.
  • Remote SFTP access.
  • HTTPS REST API.
  • SMS.
  • USB flash drive.

Detailed instructions about SPN iFemtoCell web interface are available on the resources page.

More information about the LoRa Alliance and the LoRa protocol can be found on the LoRa-alliance website.
